It was my final morning in Florida so off I went for my last walk around the lake.
Sharing with Sky Watch Friday and Weekend reflections
Once the rain started it was torrential and it just didn't stop for hours. Time to go back to London!

Ah well at least you will be used to the rain as you have it to come home to.
ReplyDeleteMy sister just told me the same thing: it rains but doesn't last long, nothing like us here in the Pacific Northwest where the rain hasn't stopped for days...
ReplyDeleteSafe journey home. Bring some warmer weather with you, please :).
ReplyDeleteWell that's a good-time to say goodbye to beautiful Florida .... Safe travelling!
ReplyDeleteLove that last shot, so full of atmosphere, I hate bad weather when you are travelling, especially torrential rain.
ReplyDeleteAhhhhhh---sorry the weather didn't cooperate on your last day... BUT--you got some great shots around the lake. Hope you enjoyed your visit overall.
ReplyDeleteHave a safe trip home. I posted a neat bird blog today --so you'll have to check it out once you are home.
Hugs,
Betsy
At least you got to see lots of cool birds. Have a safe trip home!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Nothing like a tropical downpour to put you in your place!! Sometimes there are benefits to living in an arid area ...
ReplyDeleteTime to go indeed, although the weather is not much better here and colder.
ReplyDeleteWonderful lake with so many birds around.
ReplyDeleteA lot of different things to see in your SWF post!
ReplyDeleteWell done!
Lovely shots around the lake. My faves are the ones of the heron(?) wading in the water. I suppose the waders move quickly when an alligator comes near!
ReplyDeleteI love the pretty birds, sorry about the rainy weather. Wonderful photos. Happy Skywatching!
ReplyDeleteLovely birds, green grass and brooding sky, sorry about all the rain though! Have a good trip home and a happy weekend. :)
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful series!
ReplyDeleteSorry, sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate.
ReplyDeleteBut, you did get some wonderful shots!
ReplyDeleteIt looks good even with those rain clouds!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shots - I especially love that stork (is that what it is?) reflection. And I *love* your tag line - how is the cake coming along? I have two foolproof recipes that I'm happy to share, if you'd like... :)
ReplyDeleteI like that pier shot... well done!!
ReplyDeletegreat photos, Florida is a beautiful place to enjoy the great outdoors
ReplyDeleteThe rain was just getting you ready for home!
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
it sounds like you are sorry to be going home - oh well, you will have your beautiful images and memories.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend, and thank you for stopping by my blog this week.
Great photos. We've had dark skies swirling around us like that.
ReplyDeleteNice shots! Lots of interesting birds in Florida but I would rather go to London. :-)
ReplyDeleteooh, very broody skies! loved the heron in the water.
ReplyDeleteI love those kinds of skies! :o)
ReplyDeleteYou made great encounters and could find a beautiful reflection. This last walk was rich and beautiful!
Oh! That must have been a great storm!
ReplyDeletelove the heron - never fancied visiting Florida anyway - once went to California for a week - loved the people we met (mostly) but don't think I could stay there long.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful series, I like the heron very much.
ReplyDeleteThose skies do become ominous, but what a dramatic view they create in the last photo! Love the striding heron in reflection!
ReplyDeleteSuch a clear reflection you've captured.
ReplyDeleteSome beautiful shots. The sky looks very dramatic.
ReplyDeleteDid you go play golf or birding?! Those are some great bird photos! And the sky is quite impressive! Beware those tropical rainstorms!
ReplyDeleteSure, I'd be happy to share! I have one moist chocolate cake recipe, and one orange cake recipe - they're both delicious! If you're interested, email me at 321toby at gmail dot com :)
