There is something majestic about watching hot air balloons rising up into a cloudless sky.
But then as I was watching them rise they seemed to be getting lower
and lower
and then finally low enough to land in the road!
When I asked what the problem was, he told me that they were drifting towards the flight path of the local airport so to be on the safe side they had to land.
The balloon was pulled onto its side so they could begin to deflate it.
Then it was time to deflate the next one. Apparently the balloons were landing all over the estate.

That's one of my dreams, to once try out such a balloon !
ReplyDeleteA great serie of photos. Nice reflections!
ReplyDeleteAhem, clouds in a cloudless sky! Melbourne is one of the few cities that does not have that problem as there no plane flight paths over the city. American consumer culture? Our balloons are covered with advertising and it is nice to see that American balloons are not. Gattina, you do have to know that the balloons kind of crash land. http://highriser.blogspot.com.au/2008/12/balloon-flight.html
ReplyDeleteOn my bucket list to go up in one.
