Welcome to my blog

This is it! I've given up work -retired from the rat race and am about to start on a 10 year adventure, doing all those things I've been meaning to do but never had the time to do them. I've offloaded my responsibilities and it is now my time. So follow my adventures and see whether I actually manage anything!

Unusual wedding

As we were walking past Central Park we came across a couple getting married. At first I thought it was a publicity stunt or some film being made. But no, they were actually getting married on the pavement next to a busy set of traffic lights, outside the park. I think you would only see this happening in the USA. Let's hope that spot on the pavement was of considerable significance for them as I can think of no other reason why you would choose such a place for what is a momentous moment in your life.

  2. Well, I was married in freefall, since it was significant to both of us, how we met... I wonder if this is where they met! :-)

  3. A day in the life in New York City. I used to work downtown and there were often newlyweds on the subway who had been married at the City Clerk's office.

  5. No matter how significant, I still wouldn't want to get married there.

  6. When you think of all the wonderful sights around New York it's unusual that they have chosen this particular spot. I tend to agree with the others that maybe this is where they met and therefore to them a very special place.
