Bird's eye view of Singapore

The Singapore Flyer is supposed to give you the best views of Singapore but actually the roof of the Sands Hotel is the place to go if you want to see Singapore.

This is the Sands Hotel behind me. It is supposed to have the highest swimming pool in Asia which is up on the roof on the 57th floor.
As a non resident I wasn't allowed near the swimming pool but you could still see it from the viewing area.

Looking down on the Gardens by the Bay. The domes are 2 indoor gardens - one is full of Mediterranean plants and the other is a cloud forest with lots of waterfalls.

The Singapore Flyer. You can see how the hotel dwarfs the flyer and is fast becoming the tourist viewpoint of Singapore. It cost $20(singapore dollars) to go to the top but the Flyer costs £33.

A football pitch resting on the river with the spectator area on bankside.

Although not a large city even from up here you can see lots of greenery. Many of the streets are tree lined or have lush tropical plants on the sidewalks. This is the CBD area and you get glimpses of green between some of the buildings.

  5. That is a scary building to be up on! Was it at all dizzying looking down?

Those gardens sound intriguing! A cloud garden? Did you go visit them?

And love the idea of a football pitch on the river! Must be a bit expensive considering the number of balls lost to the river... :p
