Arrowtown

I am really enjoying the scenery in the South Island. There are numerous blue lakes and spectacular views of snow-capped mountains. It is true what they say about New Zealand that you can be ski-ing in the snow in the morning and water ski-ing in the afternoon. Travelling to Queenstown we stopped at an idyllic place for lunch with breathtaking views of the Sothern Alps.

I could have gazed at the views for hours but we needed to move. Our next stop was at Arrowtown, an old goldmining town. Some of the shops had the look of an old western movie.

There were even wanted posters around the town.

  3. Cute! I didn't make it to Arrowtown. Spent a night in Glenorchy (tip of the lake) my first visit there and did some horse riding...

I wonder where you are now? I'm going to bet on Milford Sound!!! Unless you're skipping that in which case I'd guess Dunedin...
