Welcome to my blog

This is it! I've given up work -retired from the rat race and am about to start on a 10 year adventure, doing all those things I've been meaning to do but never had the time to do them. I've offloaded my responsibilities and it is now my time. So follow my adventures and see whether I actually manage anything!

The Retiro park rose garden

Another beautiful feature in the Retiro is its rose garden. If only I could photograph the scent which surrounded the roses. A perfumed garden would be a more apt description. The hybrids we buy and see in many gardens today seem to have lost their scent but not in this garden. Each rose seemed sweeter than the last.

  3. It amazes me how certain rose pictures evoke a scent. That beautiful red one did exactly that. :-)

  9. Beautiful! There weren't many flowers in the Retiro when I visited it last November... but at least I got to enjoy the Fall colours!

Roses in the garden always smell better than at home...
