Welcome to my blog

This is it! I've given up work -retired from the rat race and am about to start on a 10 year adventure, doing all those things I've been meaning to do but never had the time to do them. I've offloaded my responsibilities and it is now my time. So follow my adventures and see whether I actually manage anything!

Wimbledon 2015

It's that time of the year when I am glued to the TV watching tennis from Wimbledon. However last week I managed to get a ticket for Centre Court and saw some of the world's top players.

Novak Djokovic

Stan Warwinka

Maria Sharapova

I was glad I had a centre court ticket as it was packed to capacity and not easy to get a seat on an unreserved court. Centre court and courts one and two are all reserved seating.

Wimbledon looked beautiful with flowers everywhere.

  5. Fun to see it from the inside and not just the courts on the TV cameras. It must have been a pretty exciting day for you!

  6. How great to be seated right there in Centre Court ... I'm sure it must have been a fabulous experience and to see my fav Stan Warwinka playing would have been the icing on the cake.

  7. It seems easier (and cheaper) to see it from the telly, but I understand the need to actually BE THERE now and then. :-)

  8. Lucky you! Last time I was there (the only time) I saw Borg playing so that tells you how long ago it was! I hope that Sharapova's shrieking wasn't as awful in real life as it is on TV!

  9. That must have been a great experience. Hope you didn't witness our embarrasing Aussie throw a tantrum.

  10. I can imagine that you were happy to get tickets and watch life ! I am rather upset because I can't see my "Escape to the country", there is only Tennis, Tennis and Tennis on TV ! And that's not my cup of tea !

  11. I never was much into tennis (that's my mum's job), but I have been following it a bit on tv lately. Mind you, it's hard not to! I wouldn't mind seeing a match from center court though. It must have been really exciting.
