One America Square is in the city of London and is used as a conference centre and office block. The art deco design is quite unusual for a building that is less than 20 years old.
I think it really is the only period of architecture that can be successfully replicated. Amazingly, the building still looks modern even with eighty year old styling.
Oh, I like that a lot - so classy! I'm glad that things like this are still being built. And I confess to being a bit shocked that there's a place called One America Square in London, but I suppose I shouldn't be :)
Dearest Fun60, Wow, for me the building looks modern, yet has western exotic (for me) atmosphere♡♡♡ It sure fits for the conference centre and office. And yes, I thought a bit funny as well the building is called America Square (*^_^*)
If it is American, you know I have to comment on these photos :). Like them plenty. (Thanks for your sweet comment re the M6 Coventry sign...really cheered me up!)
We had and fortunately still have Art Deco buildings in Brussels which date from the beginning of last century. Unfortunately many had been destroyed in the 60th, now they save what is saveable !

What a nice design.
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of some of the old-time cinemas .... wonderful architecture.
ReplyDeleteThat building does have a retro feel.
ReplyDeleteThe garden in the house did have an English feel - expect for the gum trees around the edges, the parrots in the apple trees and the kookaburras!!
