Sheffield Park in East Sussex is a National Trust property. The gardens were laid out in the 18thCent by Capability Brown and have an attractive informal feel to them. The gardens are centred around four large lakes which reflect the mature shrubs and trees surrounding them.

ReplyDeleteVery tranquil. The first few photos are really good. I think I can see a weeping willow at the lakeside, which have been declared a pest here, but they do look so good with their leaves trailing in the water.

ReplyDeleteWhat a strange name, Capability. It would put a lot of pressure on a little one to live up to it! That big gnarly tree is just amazing, and I do love all that green and the beautiful reflections.
