Arrived in Quito

The saga of the strike continued when I arrived at Heathrow at 4.30am as I didn't realise that the connection from Terminal 3 to 4 was by the underground which of course wasn't working due to industrial action. Ahhh! Fortunately there was a National Express coach going to Brighton, which was calling at the other terminals and the driver kindly gave me a lift.
But here I am in Quito after a very long flight via Amsterdam. This is the view from my bedroom window. The higher mountains are shrouded in cloud but I hope to get a good view over the next couple of days. Just managed this photo before darkness descended.

  10. What a hassle getting to the airport. Glad you made it in time. The view is fabulous. Funny in that my ideas of South America are clouded by school book Geography from the 50's. I need to catch up with modern South America . Thanks for helping in this department.

  11. Simply stunning. Just the photography we see here is worth every penny spent. I would have been really happy to be able to work like this so I could display it proudly!
