Chinese lanterns strung across Albert Square in Manchester in preparation for the celebration of the Chinese New Year which will take place on 10th Feb. 2013 will be the year of the snake.
I've only celebrated Chinese New Year's once, a Vietnamese friend organised a big dinner party for the Year of the Pig (6 years ago?) and we all dressed in pink... lots of fun! :p Definitely a lot more colourful than western New Year's celebrations... I'd love to find myself in an Oriental country one year for this!
My hubby worked in China for awhile in 1991. He still hears from some of his Chinese students --especially during the Chinese New Year... So --it's the Year of the Snake, huh???? Yipes...
Hope you have a good weekend. We finally got some SNOW this morning... Yeah!!! BUT--it was 10 degrees when I got up early today...
Very colorful in a rather drab setting♫ Happy week-end♥ At this point I'm taking it a day at a time♫♪ But I'll be on the lookout for celebrations on the 10th.
Happy Chinese New Year, coming soon! Thanks for the information. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat looks funny all the lanterns. In Amsterdam they always have a lot of fireworks with the celebration.
ReplyDeleteI love what they are preparing for Chinese new year. Have a nice weekend
