This is the roof of John Lewis Department store on Oxford Street. It has become a temporary garden restaurant for Summer. Yesterday I decided to have lunch there before it closes at tbe end of this week. The type of food changed each month as a new pop up retsaurant moved into the garden. This month it was a BBQ menu. I had a beef brisket burger which was very tasty.
I was all set to indulge in a dessert but being the end of the Summer the wasps were out in force and made eating anything sweet impossible.
An unusual venue for lunch on Oxford Street.

I like those pop up restaurants very much, they are at unusual places and have wonderful food.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea when the weather is so nice !
ReplyDeleteWas it expensive, places like that tend to be in London
ReplyDeleteThe wasps would have given me pause, but it sure does look like a great place to eat in fair weather. :-)
ReplyDeleteNice place to enjoy a meal! Too bad about the wasps. They get bad in the fall around here too.
ReplyDeleteI've always longed to be on the roofgardens in London.! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteToo bad about the wasps. Such a lovely place to linger and enjoy a dessert.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice idea for a restaurant. Love eating outdoors. Could have done with out the wasps however.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they are what we call European wasps which are quite large. They peaked here in the 1990s but I haven't seen one for a long time.
ReplyDeleteI really like the 'pop up' type places - cities dont always have to be the same week in week out.

Sure is unusual bad news about the wasps. Good for the weight though.
ReplyDeleteFabulous idea of a place for a pop up restaurant ... what fun. Sorry 'bout the wasps, but know exactly what you mean; they love their sugar. hope you found an indoor spot to indulge -- it's no good to have your mind made up for dessert and then not get it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice idea for a popup garden! Especially if it comes with good food.
