Spring in the park

I have just returned from Manchester and what glorious weather we had. At long last I could take Mum to her favourite place, the gardens in Dunham Massey . Spring was in evidence everywhere.

Carpets of daffodils.

These dwarf irises were very unusual as the flowers were the usual size but the stem was only  3-4cms in height.

I think these are a kind of hyacinth but not sure.

Sadly this tree had been uprooted in the last storm.

This rabbit looked very well fed. Perhaps not the gardener's best friend.

  1. Magnificent gardens! We have nothing like these shows of bulbs here - surely your reward after living through long winters. Those open stretches of daffodils and dwarf irises are amazing.

  7. It's so wonderful to see the spring flowers blooming. The flowers here are still under lots of snow, but we watched the chipmunk come out of hibernation at my daughter's this morning. Glad you and your mom could enjoy her favorite park again.

  9. So envious of those beautiful daffodils. None of those here -- too hot. I miss them.

  12. Peter does look rather well feed - Mr. McGregor would not be very happy.

I'm sure I had some of the stuff in the children museum myself!
