Christmas skating rinks

At the beginning of December a number of skating rinks appear in all kinds of places. This one is outside Somerset House. Everyone seemed to be having such fun.

There was also a beautiful Christmas tree to admire.

  1. I live in Florida so our skating rinks are inside ;)... I used to love to skate however when we lived in Alaska. Thanks for stopping by my place and visiting.

  2. I love ice skating. Where I grew up, winters were cold and we'd shovel the snow off a frozen pond for skating. Where I live now, the only ice skating rinks are in shopping malls...

  3. Yes that is nice, we have that in Amsterdam too.

  4. There are few more picturesque scenes during the wintry days than groups of people skating in ponds. It is such a carefree thing to do amid the bustle of day-to-day life.

  5. Very nice! Our rinks won't show up until the weather gets quite a bit colder. And then we have one right downtown. I'll take a picture if I can. Yours is much prettier! :-)

  6. Oh! if only I could skate ... it's a wonderful sight and what a great way to keep warm.
    London-town is looking beautiful.
