Olympic outfits

At the Village I have the opportunity to see all the team's official kit. I am not allowed to photograph any athletes so that is why there is always a lack of them in any photos I take. There have been 3 team outfits which stood out for me right from the start and that was not because I admired the design but rather I needed sunglasses as they approached me!  When I was in London the other day I could not believe my eyes as I saw 3 London buses decorated with the designs of those very teams which I now know have been designed by the same company. So I can't show you the athletes but here are my least favourite team kit designs:

I would be interested to hear what you think about the designs. I know I am biased but I love the UK outfits best of all, which have been designed by Stella McCartney. I'm not a follower of fashion but as I watch thousands of athletes walking past me into the dining hall I just cannot remain neutral about their outfits!

  1. Wow! They're so bright and busy they almost hurt the eyes!! I haven't got a favourite outfit, although the UK ones are pretty good - but what becomes of old Olympic outfits? They're kind of not useful for anything else afterwards, are they??!!

  2. I saw the athletes in those outfits and I don't think I really like them but they are different. To see abus like that is an other story.

  3. Wow! Where are my sunglasses? I can see why you might not find these to be a favorite! :-)

  4. To each their own but I do think the UK outfits are very nice. I'm not a fan of the Chinese made American outfits. Especially the berets.

  5. Oh my goodness, to see a bus with the Russian patern is to much. The english outfits are very stylish and succesful as well. Maybe it has something to do with each other. People get wings of the nice costumes.

  8. lol! It's funny you should have picked out the Spanish kit as one of those you liked the least... it got slammed in Spain as soon as they showed it to the press!!! Both for the design which almost no one liked, and because they outsourced it all to Russia instead of going for "made in Spain" (and we have GREAT designers here!)! Big no-no in a time of crisis... :p

Pity you can't take any photos of the athletes... you can't even ask their permission? Maybe on the last day... ;o)
