Thanking the keyworkers.

Each day I go out for an hour's walk.   I try to vary my route and often go down roads I have never visited before. Today I walked down this road with its brightly decorated trees and messages from children thanking our key workers.

Each Thursday evening at 8pm you will find the majority of people outside their front doors clapping and cheering to show their appreciation of our National Health Service.

  1. How wonderful. This is happening all over the US as well. :-)

  2. What a great gesture. We did it once here and they flew a drone over videotaping our cheering from our balconies.

  3. I couldn't leave the house and volunteer myself, but I thanked volunteers and others with gifts. On the nature strip in front of the house, I left boxes of good books, children's toys, bottles of alcohol and kitchen utensils. And a thank you note on the boxes.

  4. I missed it last night as I was in the middle of walk, in the rain. I hadn't had a great day - Nathan was asking his Mummy why are Nanny and Grandpa not coming to see me? Facetiming helps but he often gets cross when we do that. Walking in the rain felt right.

  6. They certainly do deserve thanks and so do many other people who are working face to face with the public.

  9. It’s so sweet to see the children’s drawings. I’m glad people are doing things to show their appreciation for the health care workers. They have got a to be so weary by now — and no end in sight.

  10. What great things to do ... both the cheering and the children’s art work in thanks.
