This is the latest outdoor exhibition outside City hall on the banks of the Thames near Tower Bridge. I had not heard of the artist and although I googled the information on the sculptures I was none the wiser. Maybe someone out there can shed further light on these pieces of art.

These are great to watch, I like all the bodies with volumes, must be a relief for fat people to see them sculptured in art.The one in the chair I like the most.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't possibly pick a favorite. They are so interesting, especially knowing the artist is
ReplyDeleteChinese. Do you think they will still be there in September?
Not sure. Exhibitions change frequently in this area. Have you got your trip sorted now?
DeleteIt's amazing to catch people in motion, but the artist did a fantastic job of it. I love them all, but I also like the one in the chair the best. Thanks for finding and sharing these with me! :-)
ReplyDeleteIs that near where we'll be staying? Looks like a fun set of sculptures.
ReplyDeleteYes Marcia. You are staying just a few minutes walk from Tower Bridge. You will be able to stroll across the Bridge when it is all lit up at night and walk along the South bank of the river and see these sculptures!
Deletehilarious!
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting us enjoy this treat with you!! :)
These are great! I enjoyed your photos very much.
ReplyDeleteWonderful sculptures -- so full of life!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chuckle! These are really fun!
ReplyDeleteHahaha ! These sculptures are so funny ! Not exactly the ideal women body for our Western world eyes !
ReplyDeleteAll sculptures are great but my favourite is Face the wind - it symbolizes life and difficulties which we have met.
ReplyDeleteOh, how fun and different these are!! I love them!! Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteOh these just make me smile! I love the contrast of these sculptures in the foreground, and the Tower Bridge in the background....so interesting!
ReplyDeleteLove your photos of these amazing sculptures. They are unusual, especially since the artist is Chinese where few over weight people live.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your humorous comment on my Vinegar Museum photos.
What delightful sculptures ... I love their pudding shapes ..... such fun!
ReplyDeleteFascinating sculptures and wonderful photography for OWT ~ thanks, ^_^

I have to say they are an interesting and unusual collection of sculptures.. Thanks for sharing, have a happy week!
ReplyDeleteHappy sculptures, to make you smile. I hope they stay on permanent outdoors display.
ReplyDeleteThose are some great sculptures - it looks like a really fun exhibit.
ReplyDeletewho commissioned these art?
ReplyDeleteAmazing sculpture on display at the museum.
ReplyDeleteSculptures with a difference. Some almost look like cartoons. I smiled at the thin guy with the fat woman.
ReplyDeleteIncredible display!! Boom, Bobbi and Gary.
ReplyDeleteQuite an interesting display --not like any I have ever seen before. I wonder if the artist is making fun of overweight people ---or is he saying that it's okay to be obese????? I'd love to know... Overweight people should like this series though since they seldom get featured on anything.... My favorite is the person on the bicycle..... That must be delight for them!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
The sculptures are certainly unique and they all display a certain "Joie de vivre"!
ReplyDeleteRather imaginative fun. I really like the third last with the young girl leap-frogging over the woman.
ReplyDeleteThose are awesome sculptures
