Paternoster Square

On one side of St Paul's Cathedral you have the gardens but on the other side you have a large open space called Paternoster Square. A pedestrianised area full of cafes, it is usually busy with tourists and office workers taking a few minutes out to sit and admire their surroundings.

This sculpture of the shepherd and his flock is by Elisabeth Frink (1930-1993). A very fitting sculpture for this Square.

  1. Ah … it took me a while to realize why this work was likely set in this location. Being close to St. Paul’s Cathedral, the shepherd and sheep would be very fitting images, indeed.

  16. So many little corners and hidden spaces. Who knows, I could even get to like the place!

I think I prefer street performers who do a little bit more than paint up and stand still!

  18. Love the statue and I don't ever remember seeing gardens there but I'm glad they are there to provide some green in the city for lunch breaks.
