Another day in London

There is always something to catch your eye in London.

Who said men can't multi-task! Posting a parcel and taking daughter to nursery all at the same time.

This is the hippopothames. Believe it or not there used to be hippos in the Thames but that was 125,000 years ago. This one was created by the Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman for the Totally Thames festival during September.

Another art installation but this time it is part of WWI art installations. This is HMS President, a  WWI warship. The artist, Norman Wilkinson, has used a style of optical distortion extensively used in the First World War known as Dazzle painting.

  3. I think Daddy might post his daughter to the wrong place as he is clearly preoccupied with his phone. I was going to type 'preoccupied with Tinder', but that would be inappropriate really. It is odd to see parents walking their children to school, not talking to them, but busy on their phones.

  7. I wonder what the occasion was that the tot had to dress as a box. Not Boxing Day.

  9. Neat photos, Marie. Loved the hippo ... Laughed at the first one ... And enjoyed the artsy ship.

  10. I try to treat each day as a wonderful new one with new things to see and experience -- and usually it works wherever we are. But there's no doubt it would work for me in London. No boring days for sure.

  11. I think the multi-tasker was also reading or texting as he walked along. That dazzle paint really does confuse the eye. Hippos in London? Who would have thought?

  12. You got to see the hippo! And I agree - the ship art is indeed dazzling. I really like it.
