Swallows

Walking alongside the waterfront in Berwick-on-Tweed last week, I spotted these swallows perched on some telephone lines. I cannot remember when I last saw this image. It was quite a dull afternoon so I was able to watch them for some time without having to squint in the face of bright sunshine.

I would love to have captured them in flight as they flew over the incoming tide at the mouth of the river Tweed but I neither have the skills or the camera. I did try as you can see below!

  4. Well done on getting these shots. It has been years since I visited Berwick. Love the reminder of that visit.

  5. Nice pictures - I assume they are gathering before they fly south.

Not been to the London Camberwell, but you never know. We are just about to book some flights for 2014.

  10. I love to watch the swallows darting over the lake...and I can never even get a good photo of them sitting, so you're definitely one up on me. They're lovely birds and do their part by eating mosquitos.
