Walking alongside the waterfront in Berwick-on-Tweed last week, I spotted these swallows perched on some telephone lines. I cannot remember when I last saw this image. It was quite a dull afternoon so I was able to watch them for some time without having to squint in the face of bright sunshine.
I would love to have captured them in flight as they flew over the incoming tide at the mouth of the river Tweed but I neither have the skills or the camera. I did try as you can see below!

ReplyDeleteYou rnotthe only one who cannot catch them in flight, too quick for me
ReplyDeleteI know that feeeling, I have once tried too on our dike to catch seagulls, that didn't work either ha,ha. But the ones on the wire look very nice.
ReplyDeleteWell done on getting these shots. It has been years since I visited Berwick. Love the reminder of that visit.
ReplyDeleteNice pictures - I assume they are gathering before they fly south.
ReplyDeleteNot been to the London Camberwell, but you never know. We are just about to book some flights for 2014.

I like how swallows congregate on wires like that!

ReplyDeleteSwallows are a lovely birds! Great shots!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the birds.
ReplyDeleteI love to watch the swallows darting over the lake...and I can never even get a good photo of them sitting, so you're definitely one up on me. They're lovely birds and do their part by eating mosquitos.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of the Swallows.... I love trying to capture birds in flight too--but I don't have much luck.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
