Fallen tree

This is the view from my granddaughter's bedroom window of the neighbour's tree which split in half  this week and came down onto my daughter's garden. We were so lucky that neither my grandchildren nor my neighbour's children were playing in the garden at the time.

Half the tree remained but was leaning over into another neighbour's garden.

The  tree surgeaon came as soon as he could to make it safe and remove the rest of the tree.

  1. That is scary. I'm glad to learn nobody was hurt, and that the tree surgeon fixed it all up. :-)

  2. Hello,
I am glad no one was hurt in your daughter's yard. I looks like a big tree, we had a tree come down this week too. Take care and stay safe! Enjoy your day!

  3. It seems to be a very large tree for a suburban area. Small trees are good where there is space. Large trees belong in the forest.

  5. Goodness that was lucky but what a mess. It certainly seemed to be a big tree for that size garden. Our neighbours have 2 big trees in their gardens - a bay tree and a walnut tree. Both are much bigger than they need to be. We lost a tree in our garden years back in one of the storms. It fell in our garden and the one behind. It didn't do much damage as it wasn't that big. It damaged the fence but also our neighbour's fairly new sun bed. She was very upset about it and of course we replaced it - but who leaves a sunbed out in late October/Novemeber?!

  6. That would have been a lot of work.

  7. Fortunate, indeed, no person was hurt or home damaged. These big old trees often do not give any warning of anything wrong until they fall. In my neck of the woods, it is typical to be surrounded by such trees. They are beautiful and protected by the City but also a bit unnerving, especially in windstorms.

  10. Oh my gosh, as if we don’t have enough to worry about these days. Glad everybody was safe and that the tree expert could get there quickly.
