Lavender fields

This week's walk in Kent took me close to the lavender fields. They are at their best at the beginning of July so I just about made it before they are harvested.

Every cottage I passed seemed to have Lavender in full bloom.

  2. Glad you made it in time. Lavender fields forever … rows and rows of what could not be more stunning eye-candy in an open field. The aroma must have been something, too!

  5. We planted more lavender pots at weekend. It's meant to keep the cats at bay but even if it doesn't I know the bees love it.

  6. I didn't know lavender was planted in the UK, I have seen the fields in France once some time ago. It is impressive to see and smell them.

  7. Must smell heavenly around there. got you message but I'm sorry I managed to delete it. To answer it I think it would be a while before I was self sufficient though during the summer it does help out to have fresh grown produce

  8. Wasn't there a painting program that was taped right there? I seem to remember those fields from somewhere and it wasn't France!

  12. What a wonderful sight to see and smell. I love lavender! I have small shrubs of it growing in my yards and I like collecting the lowers to make sachets.

  15. Oh gorgeous! I swear I can almost catch the wonderful scent. We visited some lavender farms near here a couple of years ago ... I loved the experience. (Of course we had to drive there being the wimps we are ... it was about 40 miles away, in our defense.). I hadn’t even realized until then that lavender is actually a cas crop in this area!
