Old Haunts

The day after scattering Mum's ashes the weather changed from heavy rain to bright blue skies. So before the long drive back to London I decided to visit another of Mum's favourite National Trust places at Dunham Massey.

The heavy rain had flooded some areas of the park

But on the higher ground the spring flowers were out in force.

  3. First anniversary of your mother dying? I get lost in time. Spring flowers are blooming and summer will come soon and while I was never excited about the New Zealand ship cruise, I am excited about being in England and London again.

  7. Spring has sprung there. Are you ready for your hike? I'm off to Arizona on Monday evening to visit my brother. Dan is off to Puerto Rico tomorrow to help with disaster reconstruction in the mountains. They are still repairing after 2017 hurricane. He'll be there 2 weeks. I'll be gone 10 days.

  13. Nice to have a walk and stretch your legs and fill your eyes with beauty before a long drive. Similar things are in bloom here, except the camellias are mostly done. This spring has been the most spectacular one since I’ve been in South Carolina. So many flowers because we didn’t have a hard freeze, only a few frosts.

  14. Rain, despite its bad effects, leads to such flowers!

My mum-in-law was cremated; she and husband's ashes were scattered in the ocean.
