The rain clouds cleared away on Thursday so I took a trip out to Hainault to walk around the park. The day started off with a clear blue sky but didn't last for long.
There were a number of different water birds on and around the lake. This heron seemed to be enjoying the brief spell of sunshine.
The boats were lying idle waiting for the weekend visitors to take them out for a row round the lake.
Looking closer at the boats I noticed a couple of cormorants who also seemed to be waiting for a lift.
lovely selection of photos. I am sad that all birds here except sparrows and a few others(a few brave crows, bluejays and chickadees) have migrated away....but they will be back next spring!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful park with fabulous reflections of birds and boats in the water.

ReplyDeleteHainault seems to one name that was not brought here by our ancestors, with the name only being used for a vineyard.
ReplyDeleteSome lovely snaps here, a nice selection. I like the one with the water birds coming to greet you.

Lovely! Those reflections are so serene. :-)
ReplyDeleteI got a scare today with a heron just seemingly coming out of nowhere! I always thought they flew south for the winter, but apparently not!
ReplyDeleteI love the cormorants commanding the boats since no humans are needing them. It's interesting that you see the same birds I am seeing here in South Carolina.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty place! Love the birds.
ReplyDeletelooks like a very quiet place to relax.
