Cezanne

Last month I went to see the Cezanne exhibition at the Tate Modern in London. I like his work and this exhibition rates as one of the best I've seen. I photographed many of the exhibits and I am just going to post them here, hopefully with the correct information! If you like his work then this post is for you.

  3. I started a comment, and now I don't know if I published or not ! I love Cézanne, in fact all impressionists. When I visited my friend in the South of France, we went to Aix en provence to empty the flat of her daughter who studied in Aix. When we arrived in her street, I saw a plate with the inscription "Cézanne was born" here. Both mother and daughter hadn't realized that he lived with his parents in this street

  4. Thank you for the visit to Cezanne's work. The Chestnut trees was my favorite but must say The Murder was disturbing. Regardless, I got a lovely tour and never left my chair. Thanks.

  6. I have seen many landscapes that could have been painted by Cezanne or perhaps one of his contemporaries. But self portraits can only be painted, by definition, by the artist's own hand. So Portrait of an Artist with a Pink Background had to be stunning, and it was! Name your price and I will sell my house to pay you!

Some of his still life fruit paintings are also appealing.

  10. With that paintbox it's no wonder that (to me) the colours are all so 'muddy'.
