The Chelsea Flower show usually takes place in May each year but as with many events it was cancelled in 2020. However in 2021, for the first time in its history, it was held in October. Moving it from Spring to Autumn presented different challenges to the growers and gardeners. My daughter had managed to get me a ticket for this world famous horticultural event as an extra treat for my birthday. Here are a few of the numerous photos I took that day. The show consists of displays of flowers and vegetables and show gardens. The photos are in no particular order.
I have no problem with flowers, even exotic flowers. You put them in the ground exposed to sunshine, water and fertilise them, and replace them only if some flowers do badly. But vegetables are much fussier. I love your two photos of vegetables.
ReplyDeleteWe have those orange daisy like flowers in the sixth photo in a pot on our balcony. The plant has been strangely difficult to understand how to look after but I am getting there.
ReplyDeleteThe skeletal van and traffic light grabbed my attention.
Those are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSaw a lot of it on the TV but you really made me jelous being able to go there. Gal you went and took photos

ReplyDeleteThat looks great and with no real loss in the visuals. Good thing it didn't stretch into wet and dreary November though!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful set of photographs to remember your visit. Maybe I'll make the effort to get there one year!
ReplyDeleteThe flower show looks wonderful. The biannual flower show here has been suspended due to the pandemic.
