Walking through Hackney, East London I spotted these seats outside a coffee bar. They looked like sacks of coffee beans. I was really surprised when I got up close.
They weren't soft at all but were made of concrete! Did give me a laugh though as I was totally fooled.
Although a densely populated area, it was good to see lots of greenery.
It's a wonder what they can do with concrete these days. Hope you and your family are doing well. Any long distance travel plans yet? I'd sure like to have something overseas on our calendar to look forward to for 2022. Don't know when that will happen with the variants on the loose.
ReplyDeleteThey don't look very comfy lol.
ReplyDeleteThey do look comfy from a distance. I smiled when I realized they were made of concrete. :-)

ReplyDeleteNice to change the name of your blog to celebrate your big BD! There is, I can tell you from experience, much to look forward to!
I can imagine people jumping on the concrete seating and expecting a soft landing.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to get out though isn't it? I was thinking if those bags were filled with coffee beans it would be a very novel idea.
ReplyDeleteTrees and garden space always soften inner city landscapes. Poor Hackney looks a bit deserted, presumably because of Covid.
ReplyDeleteReally deceptive, it looks soft.

The concrete cushions gave me a laugh. Just the job for piles of them on icy mornings?
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed exploring London vicariously through your blog. Visited London in the 80s and need to stop by again.
ReplyDeleteThose pillows look as light as a feather. Nice to see green spaces amid all the concrete.
