Last month I went to the V and A museum in London to see an exhibition of some of Dior's creations. It was a large exhibition and had dresses from other designers from the house of Dior. Christian Dior died from a heart attack, aged 52, in 1957. Here are just a few of his classic designs.

I'm surprised his label has lived on this long after him.
ReplyDeleteSo elegant and beautiful. I love Princess Margaret's dress. How lovely! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love those fashion exhibitions! I don't think it is her weddingdress... I remember a dress without broderie.
ReplyDeleteThe photograph above is of Princess Margaret wearing the dress. The colour makes it look different.
DeleteThe V&A stages some wonderful exhibitions - including a Pink Floyd one not that long ago, which I couldn't get to. Dior wouldn't particularly grab me - but I love the scents! (On other people, I should add).
ReplyDeleteThat was a time when women dressed up!
ReplyDeleteHard to believe he has been gone so long as the name is still forefront in fashion.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be fun to dress up in one of those outfits! Women knew how to dress 'back then'.
ReplyDeleteMy mother used to love this style especially when they went to the theatre or Opera, because at that time you had to wear a long evening dress !
ReplyDeleteThe fabric of that flowery dress is just exquisite!
ReplyDeleteWow! all elegant dresses!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful dresses, the age of glamour.
ReplyDeleteDiana

ReplyDeleteElegant, beautiful, classic.
