I know there have been times the city has been notorious for its fog. We had a day like that this past Sunday. I got a very different view from the observation deck of the Peace Tower than what I'm used to.
The photo reminds me of Asian property developers here who show glorious photos of our city to their overseas Chinese clients, but with many of the taller buildings airbrushed out. I must say, the skyline does look better without them.
I love the sentence, "What it used to look like before skyscrapers". I know those are modern development, but I love the historical building much more.
Bet you miss seeing London 'the way it WAS'...... I love progress ---up to a point.... I know I hate seeing our beautiful mountains destroyed by HOUSES and other buildings..... North Carolina made a law saying that NO houses/dwellings could be built along the tops of the mountains. BUT--they made the law a little too late since there were already too many buildings along the ridges..... The mountains are much more gorgeous when they are not bothered by humans destroying them.... Okay--I'll get off of my bandwagon... ha
I know what you mean. On our recent tour of Asia...they were very proud of their glistening sky scrapers. I on the other hand wanted to see the old Asia....

ReplyDeleteSeem to remember that is somthing you would not have seen when we were kids, the smog hid everything
ReplyDeleteAmazing to have the skyscrapers blocked from view.
ReplyDeleteWe've been having fog, too. The red buses amongst the gray fog make a very nice picture.

ReplyDeleteThe fog really did take years of development off the city.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful misty pictures! I love fog. :-)
ReplyDeleteI've always heard London is famous for it's foggy weather!
ReplyDeleteFog makes interesting photos but it also makes a city a bit gloomy.

ReplyDeleteDefinitely returned to a gloomy city this week.
ReplyDeleteYour imagination of the past makes a foggy day kind of fun ....
ReplyDeleteI prefer London without Skyscrapers ! The fog should erase them forever but let the sunshine through !!
