The Bankside power station, which is now the Tate Modern Art Gallery, has had a recent extension to the building.
Reflections abound in local shops.
The brickwork of the extension is a work of art.
There is a viewing gallery which gives a 360deg view of London.
This is my favourite view which shows the Millennium Bridge between St Paul's Cathedral and the disused chimney of the power station.
Away from the river the view looks over at a new development of apartments. In fact you have a great view into the apartments.
If you want one there are still a few available from £5.95m. Imagine paying all that money to live in a human zoo.
Details here if you're keen
Love the brick work on the Modern Tate - we went to the original Tate - one of my "must see" things in London while we were there (too short - how can you see a big city in one day?)
ReplyDeleteWow, it seems Eur. is a cauldron right now - just like the USA! Hope Britain gets quickly adjusted!)
It's really lovely, and your reflections are fun. Someone asked me recently if I know London, and I said yes, yes I do. Because of you! :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, what an interesting building!
ReplyDeleteThe brickwork is very nice. The apartments, no thank you, I don't like living in a glass house.
ReplyDeleteI hate the Tate Modern, I really can't stand what they show as so called art and in my oppinion the building could well be putto better use. Saying that they have a good view from the place
ReplyDeleteThe brick work on the Tate is definitely art work. How weird those apartments have no privacy in their living rooms. Hello stalkers!
ReplyDeleteInteresting architrecture.
ReplyDeleteSydney – City and Suburbs
I knew te old one, but not the new one.
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing architecture. The Tate is my daughter and SIL's favourite Art Gallery. "A human Zoo" you are so right.
ReplyDeleteInteresting architecture but what views. You really have to be seriously rich now to live to any kind of standard in inner London.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that crazy? London is beyond wonderful, but as you show so beautifully, it can sure be enjoyed fully without living in that human zoo. Just crazy prices there -- and for that?
ReplyDeleteDid love the addition to the Tate Modern and would love to visit it again.
Cool architecture and I like the reflections!
ReplyDeleteThe brickwork is fascinating. I hope you'll be inviting me to stay in your penthouse apartment sometime soon. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe artistic brickwork is amazing. Dropped in via Andrew's highrise.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to thank you for this very good read!! I definitely enjoyed every bit of it. I have got you bookmarked to look at new stuff you post…
