Spring has arrived

It is now officially Spring. The skies are blue, flowers are in bloom everywhere. In St James's Park the daffodils looked magnificent.

The pelicans looked suitably impressed with the sunshine.

Even St Christopher's Place, behind Oxford Street was transformed into a Spring spectacular  for a few days.

1200 fresh flowers were suspended over the piazza with many of the shops and restaurants full of floral tributes
Personally I would sooner have seen the flowers on the ground as it was difficult to see them so high up. So all that effort was wasted on me.

  1. That was a cool effect with all those flowers, but I agree that it would have been nice to have them a little closer. :-)

  2. Stringing up the flowers is an interesting idea, but difficult to admire them from such a distance below.

  3. Can't help but think that was a waste of flowers hanging them up like that. Spring is certainly coming out now after the false start we had

  9. We had cold temps this weekend with snow that didn't stick so it didn't feel like spring. The daffodils are lovely there.

  10. Interesting idea to hang the flowers but I agree: they would be better seen on the ground. It's wonderful to see spring is happening in London!

  11. An interesting way to welcome Spring! But I would welcome it any way at all if I lived where there was Spring (it's warm here in Florida, but there really isn't much change from the winter temperatures).

  15. Very pretty - I remember springtime in Holland, and it's similar to what you're posting here. Very different from springtime in Colorado!

  21. Such an interesting London post.
I agree with you on the suspended flowers. They would need more drama to become visible.
