The House of Tiles, Mexico City

Built in the 18th century the exterior of the House of Tiles in Mexico City is covered with blue and white hand made ceramic tiles.

Inside the building is a Sanborns restaurant.

  1. Did you purchase any tiles while you were in Mexico? Dan was there in the 70s and brought home a trivet with 4 tiles. The wood part has since decayed and I'm left with the 4 tiles. I should do something with them.

  6. I have never been to Mexico so I have to content myself with the "Delft" tiles which I can see quite often !

  10. I love the blue and white tiles and I'm fascinated by the "wings" on the servers' shoulders.

  11. I have always liked Mexican tiles. They are all over the place in California. I wish we saw more of them here in England.
