If any of you have ever watched the BBC series 'Pride and Prejudice' by Jane Austin then you might recognise Pemberley and the lake that Mr Darcy swam across.
This is Lyme House in Cheshire where it was filmed. I made a detour on the way home from visiting family in Leeds.
This current house was originally built, added to, redesigned, made more Elizabethan then made more Italian Baroque During the later 18th century, it was modernised since of course families gain money and lose money, but I would like a slow and informed guided tour through the home today.
No dashing young men in enticingly clinging clothing?
ReplyDeleteSo Mr Darcy was dressed when he swam across the lake?
ReplyDeletenice estate! yes I loved that tv series.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures, good idea to make a detour.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy and peaceful last weekend of May.
All the best Jan
It must be nice to visit places seen on TV series.
