Grants Zoological Museum

This museum is part of the University College London.

The Museum was founded by Robert Grant in 1827. A believer in evolution he was the first professor of Zoology and Comparative Anatomy in England. When he first started lecturing at the University of London he realised he needed some teaching materials and began to collect specimens which are still used today by students. Grant taught at the University from 1828 until his death in 1874.

The museum is mainly used for research by the students of the university but is open at certain times for the public to have a look around.

  1. Rabbits in Australia seem to have built an immunity against the second virus released against them and they are back in nearly plague proportions.

  6. "A believer in evolution he was the first professor of Zoology and Comparative Anatomy in England" during 1828-74.
Impressive since Charles Darwin hadn't published his theory of evolution by natural selection until 1859 in On the Origin of Species. However that was fine because scientists may have been discussing these theories with each other for years.

  7. Honestly I prefer my cats ! I am so happy that you wrote me, I don't know what happened but since Firefox made an unwanted update, I lost all my Bookmarks and emails ! And my helper is not there anymore. In the castle I am the only computer "specialist" slowly slowly I learn the inside of a computer. Easter I celebrate with my friends here in the castle, I prefer that Dario comes when the weather is a bit better.
