The 30,000 poppies were given to the Imperial War Museum after the display in 2014. This is the first time they have returned for this year's memorial of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War 2

A very special commemoration and display.
ReplyDeleteWe will remember them.
All the best Jan
Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWe wear one poppy on the shirt each Remembrance Day, but it is a small, almost private symbol. The Tower of London's poppies are a memorial that is huge and tragic.
I had forgotten they were ceramic. I certainly remember your photos at the time. I'm pleased they have been brought out for use.
ReplyDeleteBtw, Princess Anne is here at the moment, maybe related to the 80th anniversary you mentioned.
That poppy display is incredibly beautiful and dramatic and appropriate. I visited the tower years ago and found the ravens fascinating.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful display and memorial.
