I took these photos just before Easter in Greenwich Park. The Spring flower displays were just coming into their own and I couldn't resist snapping a few displays to share with you.
This week England has started the long road back after lockdown. Non essential shops have reopened including the hairdressers. We are all feeling a lot lighter now that the extra layers of hair have been removed and smartened up a bit. I had my 2nd vaccination this week so feel ready to face the world once again. Precautions are still in place. Only eating and drinking outdoors in groups of 6 or less. Socially distanced rules still apply as does the wearing of masks on transport and in shops etc. Today the sun is shining and suddenly things seem a lot better out there.
Greenwich Park is gorgeous, but after long covid isolation, Greenwich looks even better :) Daffodils are themselves full of life.
ReplyDeleteThey were so mad here in the Netherlands when the pubs in England were allowed to open again! What they failed to see was that the restrictions that hit the UK were way harder and tougher than anything that hit the Netherlands. We are still way behind with all the vaccinations and they have now said April 28th will most likely be a starting point again. If the figures don't get worse again...
ReplyDeleteLovely to see all the flowers though. Over here the tulips are just coming out and showing their colour.
Someone went to a lot of trouble to design those beautiful round beds of flowers. Here I must wait to see what appears in the garden bed. Spotted a peony yesterday and Emily confirmed it was one but she said she doesn't remember seeing it bloom for a very long time. I'm hoping that was because it had been buried in leaves.
ReplyDeleteThose flower colours are so cheerful!. I'm getting ready to prune my roses for winter soon.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty in the park, for sure. Good luck with the road ahead. You deserve it.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures. And glad to know you are now in the vaccine group!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful garden shots!
ReplyDeleteYour trees and flowers are far ahead, here we are behind, no flowers yet or very few ! The leaves only start to come out, except "my" cherry tree in front of the balcony is blooming it looks so nice !! The lockdown becomes a bit better but so ridiculous, from May 8 on you are allowed to eat and drink on a terrace but you are not allowed to go inside and use the toilet ! I think they are all mad. Our non essential shops were open but only on appointment one day before, with the result that very few people went shopping ! I became an internet expert, I order all on internet and pick it up so I don't have to go inside. Only for food of course. I really wished my normal life back and TRAVEL, I am sure that you want that too !
ReplyDeleteWow, beautiful flowers overthere!
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers. Glad you've got your 2nd jab. It does feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel but hopefully people don't go too mad now that lockdown is easing and push the figures back up.
ReplyDeleteI’m glad you have gotten your second shot and are able to do more things. I had my first hair cut a week ago, after my second shot and waiting the prescribed two weeks. It felt great! The spring flowers are so colorful and bright. We need them this spring more than ever I think.
ReplyDeleteThat is good. Spring is bringing beautiful flowers and a light at the end of the tunnel. We are way behind in vaccinations due to a delay in getting the vaccine into the country. However, we don't have any infections in the community only in quarantine hotels. (But it sometimes escapes with workers) Also the new strain seems to travel in the air in the hotels and sometimes people get infected there after testing negative on arrival. Glad you are feeling good. The daffodils are amazing. love them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flower arrangements in you park! I love the color combinations. We still are getting snow in Colorado so Spring seems far away.
ReplyDeleteYes, things are better but there's still a way to go. Nice to see that you are enjpoying the spring flowers as part of our come back.
ReplyDeleteAwesome photos of the floral elegance ~XX
