We're out!

It was only the third referendum we have ever had . Should we remain in the European union or leave? Lots of rubbish and scaremongering from the politicians but no-one really thought the vote would be to leave. Only time will tell if it was the right decision or not.

  1. When I wake up during the night I listen to the BBC. When I woke up this morning I wasn't sure if I had been dreaming or if I had really heard that Britain had voted to withdraw from the EU. I had to have a quick look on my iPad to see if it was true. You have certainly surprised us over here on this side of the pond!

  2. I am truly dismayed that this has happened. Worldwide the stock markets have plunged and the pound has lost 10% of its value. Hopefully this is temporary, but who knows? :-(

    2. You said the people were really p***d off with the government. I think that is why they voted 'out' not because they really wanted 'out'. It will be interesting to see what happens with Scotland.

  5. There will always be Chicken Littles.

From my point of view...it is crazy to give away your rights. Over here we fought a revolution against taxation without representation (and a few other minor inconveniences). You remember that one?

I applaud you all for standing up and saying Hell No.

But no one cares what I think *smile*

  6. I hope the British people will realize what they have voted for when they wake up.

  7. I think the young in Britain understood that society’s need to open doors and not close them, despite all the reasons to be fearful and all the Donald Trumps in the world.

  9. As an expat Brit, but one who's been gone too long to vote in the referendum, I'm very disappointed in this vote. While there are certainly serious structural issues within the EU, the continent is better off with the EU than without. How many wars within member nations, or how many very serious recessions have occurred since the EU became strong? It's been a success. Next up: another Scottish referendum, and quite likely something similar in Northern Ireland. Great Britain is bout to become Little Britain.

  10. Good or bad we can't tell just yet, but I feel that history is being written right now. History that will go into school manuals in a few years.

  12. I very much agree with Al, it is a disaster especially for the next generation, they can't travel without Visa and not work without work permit. Very sad.
